About

David Resnick is a native Iowan and has resided in Dubuque for twenty-seven years.  Since 1993, he has been on the Fine Arts faculty of Clarke University in Dubuque.  During his tenure, David has held many leadership positions at the university and has been selected as a presenter for the prestigious Mackin-Mailander Lecture Series.  Mr. Resnick holds a Master of Music Education degree from Northern Illinois University and a permanent professional teaching certificate from the State of Iowa.

As a member of the council, David is on the board of the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency, Dubuque Main Street, Operation New View, and the East Central Intergovernmental Association (ECIA).  He has been involved in a broad spectrum of community organizations including the Dubuque Arts Council, Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, the Langworthy Neighborhood Association, and the Grand Opera House.  He is also a member of many professional and musical performance organizations.  David and his wife, Mimi, have three grown children and one at home.

Impact

David believes in responsive and responsible government.  With the myriad of issues that come before the Dubuque City Council and the diverse opinions within the community, David will continue to look at all sides of the issues, plan for the long-term, and keep Dubuque moving forward.
